Recently, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit the Hotel Café Royal on Regent Street and have breakfast in the exquisite Ten Room restaurant.

The Café Royal has been a London landmark since it opened in 1865 and became the place to see and be seen, with famous guests including Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolf, Noël Coward, Winston Churchill and Princess Diana to name but a few. In 2012 the building was transformed into a five-star hotel with the Ten Room restaurant at its heart.

The Ten Room is decorated in the Art Deco style and has the perfect early morning breakfast feel, teaming beautiful hotel luxury with an understated elegance to make this the perfect place for a breakfast meeting or before a long day at work or exploring London.

To start we were offered a selection of pastries (delicious!) and freshly squeezed juices - not just the usual orange and grapefruit but a whole range of fruit and vegetable juices can be made on request, including mint juice, which is ideal given that juicing is all the rage at the moment.

Once the delicious vienoiserie had been dutifully finished, we were presented with our choices from the extensive A La Carte menu. For the purposes of research, the choices that we made were a hearty full English Breakfast, a delicious classic Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs and a fabulous Cheese, Ham & Mushroom omelette. We also ordered a side of Hash Browns, which were a lovely accompaniment to the omelette.

All items from the menu were cooked to perfection. The full English would certainly be one for those with a larger appetite (or a long day of walking ahead!) but each was great value for money and was an excellent example of a British classic for those visiting from overseas. The eggs in both the Omelette and the Scrambled Eggs were cooked to perfection.

The tea and coffee flowed, and after the pastries, juices (numerous glasses!) main courses and fresh toast with a selection of condiments, we were more than satisfied and ready to face a busy day in London.

Service was impeccable, attentive and friendly and we would recommend Hotel Café Royal for a fantastic breakfast in equally fabulous surroundings - until the end of November Brunch.London has an exclusive 25% discount, so act quickly to take advantage of this offer.
