I have been coming to this location for years now ever since I was a kid, and I am ashamed to say how the mighty have fallen. What happened with the great atmospheric TGI’s of yesteryear? Going back either 10 or 15 years ago and you could never get to the bar, Now, if anything you can run round it with a clear path. I feel that the food is quite expensive for what you get these days, saying that, it is edible at least. I’ve given the food five stars because I don’t believe that is the problem. They are never normally busy now, which is sad to see but you’d think that the service would be even better as a result, but it is not, if anything is the opposite and we used to be served better when they was three deep in the restaurant alone. Barely any staff working. Except for my pal Roy, who me and my family have got to know over the years and a few others who were great but not as fast as usual What I’m trying to say is, I feel that this is a chain which is sadly no more and should just hang up their belt while they can and accept a great long legacy they’ve created rather than running it into something out of desperation that it can’t be anymore. I for one feel, that only way to inject life into this Iconic building (which I love itself) would be, if it was no longer associated with the TGI’s brand. Keep the American theme by all means, but it would need to be an independent diner. Then, just one of a kind location might actually get some custom through the door. Thank you

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been coming to this TGI Fridays at Lakeside Retail Park for around 20 years now, and I’ve always had a soft spot for it. TGI’s has been a longtime favourite of mine, and this location in particular has always delivered when it comes to the food. The classics still hit the same — the Jack Daniel’s ribs, sesame chicken strips, fajitas, and boneless wings are just as tasty as ever. The chocolate fudge fixation and the s’mores sundae are always a must and never disappoint. When it comes to the food itself, they’ve stayed true to what made TGI’s so popular in the first place. That said, the overall experience just isn’t what it used to be. The place is starting to feel a bit tired and worn out. Tables were a little sticky, and the whole space could do with a deep clean and a refresh. It also seemed quite understaffed — service wasn’t bad, but it felt stretched and lacking the upbeat energy TGI’s is known for. Still love TGI Fridays as a brand, and I’d hate to see this location fade away, but it definitely needs some attention and investment — especially with another TGI’s just across the road at Lakeside Quay. Food is still great, but service, cleanliness, and atmosphere are just ok now. Prices are also creeping up, which makes the drop in overall experience more noticeable. Really hope this spot gets the love it deserves — it’s been a go-to for so many years.
